Convergent Design nanoFlash
The nanoFlash is a solid state HD/SD recorder & player that uses the Sony XDCAM 4:2:2 Codec to write Quicktime, MXF or MPEG2 files onto Compact Flash media cards.
The unit can record at a wide range of data rates, from 18 to 280 Mbits/s.
It is ideal for use with the Sony XDCAM EX range of cameras when a higher bit rate is required than that provided by the camera itself.
For example, Sky Broadcasting and BBC tv both require recordings with a minimum bit rate of 50 Mbits/s which XDCAM EX does not produce.
It is therefore an ideal way of using a relatively cheap HD camera but still producing recordings that satisfy the requirements of broadcasters. For data transfer & storage we can supply the NextoD1 card reader and hard drive unit.
